The Norwegian dance company dybwikdans is dedicated to creating performances for children and young audiences. Established in 1999, led by choreographer, researcher and professor Siri Dybwik, the company has developed a series of acclaimed performances that has toured extensively nationally and internationally.

While constantly stretching towards creating intimate sensory scenographic environments in which their audiences are immersed, dybwikdans is firmly rooted in ancient practices like telling stories around the campfire and singing lullabies for their children. These practices are integrated into the company’s work, work that has been described as “magic, quirky and beautiful.”

The company works with a diverse selection of performers and creators. Being particularly interested in investigating the interactions between performers and the very young in a performance setting, the work is developed in close collaboration with nurseries, children and researchers. dybwikdans will develop two new performances in 2019, and will continue touring nationally and internationally.
